Learn with Us

In difficult times your sense of well-being may be challenged. You may ask yourself: Who am I now? What will happen to me? How do I speak to loved ones about what I need most now? How can I connect to my faith to give me support? Mishkan Miami can guide you as you think about the meaningful questions of life.

The Sacred Conversation

We often avoid talking about our end-of-life plans, telling ourselves that we do not want loved ones to worry. But in reality, the opposite is true. The most important time to have these discussions is when we are healthy and can fully engage in the conversation. The Sacred Jewish Conversation Project can help you start talking with your family about this difficult topic. We can guide you step-by-step through the conversation, from what to think about to what concrete actions you need to take. Conferences and Seminars

Mishkan Miami partners with other agencies, synagogues, hospitals and assisted living facilities to develop learning opportunities for healthcare professionals, counselors, chaplains and clergy. One of our most popular programs, the Annual Ministering to the Elderly Conference, addresses the challenges and opportunities associated with caring for aging populations. Topics include Jewish ethics at the end of life, aging with meaning, Jewish views on the afterlife, medical ethics and holding on while letting go. Continuing education credits are often available.

Building a Network

If you are part of a synagogue, agency or healthcare team and you want to learn more about caring for people experiencing difficult times, Mishkan Miami can help you. Our team can train healthcare workers and develop synagogue caring networks that will give you the tools you need to bring Judaism to the bedside.
