Ahavat Olam, a progressive Jewish congregation near the Alper Jewish Community Center, is expanding its youth programs. Rabbi Danny Marmorstein, Rabbi Jonathan Tabachnikoff and Religious School director Linda Levinson have created 2 programs to engage children and teens, to boost their self pride, and give them a greater appreciation of life through Judaism. Temple membership is not required, but an RSVP is necessary to reserve your place. firstname.lastname@example.org or call 305 412-4240
PJs and Pizza is open to children ages 5-10, and their parents. It is held the second Friday of each month, 6:30-7:30 pm, at Ahavat Olam, on the grounds of Killian Pines United Methodist Church, 10755 SW 112 Street. Children can wear their pjs or jeans as they celebrate the Sabbath, listen to a story and enjoy a delicious pizza dinner! The first PJs and Pizza will be September 14. It’s free!
Middle and senior high school students of all faiths are invited to join Rabbi Jonathan in a dual monthly program, one social and one of social action, usually held on the first and third Sundays of the month. As the Jewish High Holy Days fall in September this year, altering this schedule, the kickoff social will be a bowling party at Bird Bowl on Monday, September 3rd, 10 - 11:30 A.M. Lane and shoe rental charges apply. Future events will resume in October.
