The (Upside-Down Purim) New Sanhedrin Wednesday, March 7, 7pm Is It Good For The Jews?
“Is what good for the Jews,” you ask?
Is anything good for the Jews?
Who’s on first?
Join us in an upside down evening of The New Sanhedrin as we apply our usually very organized live debate process on challenging and provocative topics to random topics pulled from a hat and held up to the overall question: “Is it good for the Jews?” We’ll have a hatful of nuggets such as Anthony Weiner, blueberry bagels and Justin Bieber’s Hebrew tattoo. We invite participants to drop their own ideas into the hat as well and each topic drawn will get discussed Sanhedrin-style throughout the event.
Next@19th's New Sanhedrin is a modern system of argument based on the principles of the original Sanhedrin of the early Rabbis. Programs address today's most challenging issues such as circumcision, tattoos and body modification, gender and LGBT issues. All of South Florida's diverse community is invited to come and vote with their feet, moving from side to side as the arguments progress.
In observance of Purim, L’Chaim Vodka will be on hand to celebrate and the debate part of the evening will be followed by a Megillah Reading for all who choose to stay. Light refreshments will also be served.
