Join us for our final OLAM Seminar Series on May 4 at 12:00pm, when Dr. Isaac Prilleltensky from the University of Miami will join us to engage us on Promoting Well-Being: Linking Personal, Organizational, and Community Well-Being

This seminar will explore signs, sources, and strategies for exploring personal, organizational, and community well-being. In a new model developed by Isaac Prilleltensky and his team at the University of Miami, volunteer and professional leaders working in the not-for-profit world will learn how to promote well-being based on SPEC, an acronym for strengths, prevention, empowerment and community change. Many not-for-profit social service organizations still embrace reactive and deficit oriented models that tend to operate in a deficit oriented fashion, which is not always empowering. Some concrete techniques that will be learned in the seminar include being an inclusive host, a visionary, an asset seeker, a good listener, and a good program implementer and evaluator. Organizational development is crucial for the advancement of community well-being. We will learn how to engage in productive organizational development, how to form effective teams, and how to sustain change efforts.
