Federation is collecting funds to provide immediate support and relief to victims of the February 27 Chile earthquake. 100% of these funds will be disbursed to support non-sectarian relief efforts to help those in need.


Clergy, medical experts and social-work professionals will review “Aging with Meaning: A Spiritual Journey” at the 15th annual Conference on Ministering to the Elderly on Tuesday, March 16 at Miami Jewish Health Systems, Douglas Gardens campus.


The Professional Advisory Committee of The Foundation of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation will host another Lunch & Learn program — “The Dangers & Risks of International Noncompliance” — Wednesday, March 17 at Northern Trust.


The 26th Annual Judicial Reception will pay tribute to three outstanding legal professionals: Honorable Paul C. Huck, Honorable Scott J. Silverman and Donald I. Bierman, Esq. — Tuesday, March 23 at the Hilton Miami Downtown.


For the eighth year in a row, the Organization for Leadership Advancement in Miami (OLAM) has organized a workshop series designed for volunteers and professional staff of Miami area Jewish organizations. Final session: Wednesday, April 28th.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is accepting applications for Jewish camp incentive grants for children ages 7 to 17. This is the second year Federation is making this program available to Miami-Dade County families. Deadline: April 16.


Deadline — April 16: The Foundation’s Silverman and Gorn Scholarship Funds for junior-senior undergrad or graduate students who are residents of Miami-Dade and are/will be enrolled in a degree program in Jewish education/Jewish service.


Nearly 1,300 people came together for The Main Event on February 4. Keynote speaker was author and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel. Isaac Olemberg was honored with the Friend of Israel Humanitarian Award.


Since the devastating earthquake that rocked Haiti on January 12, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation has been an active participant in relief efforts. To date, more than 1,600 people have contributed a total of over $330,000 to the Haiti Relief Fund.
