Noam Schalit

Noam Schalit led an international effort to secure the release of his son, Gilad, who was held captive by Hamas for more than five years. Gilad was returned to Israel in November of 2011.

For five-and-a-half years, Noam led a worldwide campaign to win international support and Israeli public approval to bring Gilad home. He often speaks about the commitment of the IDF and the Israeli government to its soldiers, and its responsibility to bring every soldier back to their families. He discusses the controversial prisoner exchange which ultimately won his son's freedom, and Gilad's life today.

Noam provides an inside look at the personal struggle that he and his family went through, and the hardships and challenges that every Israeli family faces when they send their sons and daughters to war.
