Federation to Send Second Medical Mission to Haiti in January 2011
Nearly a year after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation continues to fund several projects through partner agencies working to bring relief to the beleaguered island nation.
In addition, Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center (JVC) and the Maimonides Society - Federation's healthcare division - have helped to coordinate special medical missions to Haiti, the first of which took place barely a month after the quake struck. That mission sent eight health care professionals from Miami to provide five days of assistance on the ground. In January 2011, Federation will continue its good works in Haiti, when the JVC and Maimonides Society send a second contingent for a weeklong medical mission.
Federation’s Second Medical Mission to Haiti will run from Friday, January 7 to Friday, January 14, 2011. The trip is being coordinated in partnership with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Project Medishare for Haiti, a partner in the first medical mission.
