Georgia Hunter has crafted her own family’s history into a gripping novel that follows three generations of the Kurc family, and their astounding capacity to endure the horrors of the twentieth century’s darkest hours. Driven by a dogged will to survive, the Kurcs must rely on hope, ingenuity, and inner strength to persevere. The story begins in 1939, and transports readers from the jazz clubs of Paris to the farthest reaches of the Siberian gulag.
