Hochberg Preparatory Presents Ahead of Time: The Extraordinary Journey of Ruth Gruber

North Miami Beach, FL – May 17, 2016 – Hochberg Preparatory School is pleased to announce that it will be celebrating the incredible and acclaimed life of Dr. Ruth Gruber on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. by showing a one-time screening of the movie Ahead of Time. Dr. Gruber was born in 1911 in Brooklyn, New York and became the youngest female to earn a PhD at age 20.

Dr. Gruber went on to become a heralded international correspondent and photojournalist whose career spanned more than seven decades. Besides extensively traveling the world, she was a member of the Roosevelt team, which traveled to Alaska in 1942, escorted Holocaust refugees to America in 1944, and covered the Nuremberg trials in 1946. She had relationships with many world leaders including Eleanor Roosevelt and President Harry Truman.

The school is privileged to be able to present this one-time, multi-award winning film covering the life and times of Dr. Gruber. The movie is a testament to her life as a “ground-breaking” journalist and also offers never-before-seen archival footage. In addition to viewing this spectacular film, Executive Producer Patti Kenner will make a special guest appearance. V.I.P. ticket holders will be able to socialize with Ms. Kenner.

Tickets for the event are $10.00 per person or $180.00 for V.I.P. privileges. All proceeds from the event will be used for the Hochberg Preparatory School Scholarship Fund. In addition to the fundraising event, the school is seeking sponsors. A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available.

The event will be held at Beth Torah-Benny Rok Campus. 20350 NE 26th Ave., North Miami Beach, FL 33180. RSVP is required: info@hochbergprep.com.
