Join together with Temple Israel of Greater Miami for three unique ways to pay tribute to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:
Friday, January 18 at 6:30 p.m.: A musical tribute in honor of Dr. King will feature guest musicians and soloists, including performer Ananda Silva and participation by The Temple Israel Singers. All are welcome to remain and participate in the 7:30 p.m. Shabbat service when we welcome guest Cantorial Soloist Rebecca Schwartz and musical guests, Bagels 'N Box, a duo that combines Jewish liturgical music and beat-boxing.
Sunday, January 20 at 10:30 a.m.: Temple Israel and members of the Jewish community are invited by Church of the Open Door UCC and its Pastor R. Joaquin Willis to attend morning worship service, during which Temple Israel's spiritual leader Rabbi Tom Heyn will speak. The church is located at 6001 NW 8th Ave., Miami.
Monday, January 21 at 7:00 p.m.: The Church of the Open Door UCC and Temple Israel will come together at the Temple for a full tribute to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The entire community is invited to join us. Rabbi Solomon Schiff, Executive Vice President Emeritus of the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami, will speak, and members of Faith in the City and the Miami Coalition of Christians and Jews will join us.
