Bet Shira Presents: 26th Annual Tu Bishevat Concert

The Jewish American-Israeli Song Book The award-winning Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra led by Aaron Kula will play a concert of famous songs from the Israel and Chassidic Song Festivals as well as jazz arrangements from their own American Klezmer song book. The 8 member band will improvise and rock your soul with memorable songs from 1965 to 2000. The concert includes a sing-along with solos by Bet Shira Clergy! A not to miss season event!

We celebrate the gift of Torah as a community of learners. Scholars in Residence programs are community learning opportunities with outstanding leaders in contemporary Jewish life. This year through the generosity of Joey and Cheryl Rosen, the Evelyn Rosen Memorial Scholarship in Residence program has been formally established. This endowment gift assures that Bet Shira will honor Jewish study continually with scholars in residence. May the memory of Evelyn Rosen be for a blessing and may we all become more enlightened in her memory.

Rabbi Danielle Upbin is a prayer leader, teacher, inspirational preacher and singer-songwriter. She currently resides in Clearwater, FL, where she and her husband serve as the spiritual leaders of Congregation Beth Shalom.

January 22, 2015: Rabbi Irwin Kula

Rabbi Irwin Kula is the leading voice of religious voice of pluralizing, president of CLAL, and has significantly shifted the debate on Jewish identity and spiritually to include new ways of finding meaning and purpose.

February 20-21, 2015: Dr. Jeff Shoulson

Dr. Shoulson serves as the Doris and Simon Konover Chair of Judaic Studies at the University of Connecticut. Professor Shoulson areas of expertise include Jewish Literature, Early Modern Literature, and Jewish-Christian Relations.
