The Japour Family Collection and Temple Emanu-El present Miami’s own Purvis Young. On view will be Young’s works which tell the stories of a struggle against a decaying establishment and his positive, celebratory triumph over devastating urban poverty. Purvis painted on raw, disintegrating materials that characterized the issues of racism and social themes of his time that are just as relevant today.
