Hurricane season is here, and Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center is seeking compassionate, helpful people to join the 2017 Jewish Volunteer Emergency Response Team (JVERT) and assist our community in case of a disaster. Whether you own a truck, are handy with a saw, are good at organizing others, or have other important skills or resources, all volunteers with a “can-do” attitude are welcome! This year, more than 5,000 Miami-Dade students received a formal Jewish education in Jewish day schools and congregational schools. Through generous donations made to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign, more than $2 million in grants and scholarships were allocated to 11 Jewish day schools and 11 congregational schools in our community. Before you leave for summer vacation, please help us continue to make Jewish education a priority by making a donation now to the Annual Federation Campaign.

The Women’s Amutot Initiative continues to champion women and girls around the world! In fact, our Federation was not just the first, but remains the only, Federation to fund programs for women and girls as an ongoing part of the Annual Campaign. This strategic program uses a gender lens to allocate funds to a select group of Israeli nonprofits that help protect women against violence, foster female leadership development and encourage social and economic empowerment. Since the Initiative's inception in 2003, Miami's Federation has contributed nearly $4 million in direct allocations to programs that help marginalized women and improve Israeli society. If you’re looking for a great way to promote your business and support Miami’s Jewish community, joining Federation’s Proud Business Partners program makes it easy to do both. Our valuable corporate sponsors are recognized at local Federation events in a variety of ways. Most importantly, their generosity underwrites event costs, allowing Annual Federation/UJA Campaign dollars to support critical needs in our Jewish community.
