Thank you for a wonderful Super Sunday and Good Deeds Day!
Last Sunday, 800 donors helped raise nearly $600,000 for the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign. Hundreds of volunteers filled Federation Headquarters, including teenagers from a number of Jewish youth organizations, making calls and completing hands-on service projects for Good Deeds Day. This year, Super Sunday went mobile and it was a tremendous success! Through text messages and a specially-designed tech platform, 150 donors responded and contributed more than $12,000 to the day’s total. We extend a special thanks to Super Sunday Chairs Stefany and Jaime Ghitelman whose efforts helped create a day of fun and service for our Jewish community.
Federation’s 2018-2019 Report to the Community is now available.

Patients at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital can celebrate Shabbat with their families and connect to their Jewish heritage with the help of a Shabbat kit, created by a partnership between Federation, PJ Library and the hospital.
Supported in part by a Federation Jewish Incubator Grant, the special package brings comfort to patients and their families when they need it most. Delivered each Friday, the kit includes electric tea light candles, challah, grape juice, personalized art from local community groups, a Shabbat guide and a PJ Library book. Read more.
Israeli entrepreneurs are making their dreams a reality, while promoting economic development throughout the country with help from your donation to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign.

Thanks to the assistance of our overseas partner, The Jewish Agency for Israel, which acted as a loan guarantor, Michal was able to secure a business loan to open her own candy shop in a suburb of Jerusalem. The Loan Funds focus on marginalized populations such as new immigrants, Ethiopian Israelis and the ultra-Orthodox. Federation also directly supports business initiatives in the Negev through the Ness Negev Business Loan Fund, another resource for small businesses to launch and expand. To date, Federation has invested more than $1 million in Israel’s Negev region through the fund.
