FRIDAY, DECEMBER 30 | 1 TEVET

Time is running out! Tomorrow, December 31, is the last day to make your 2016 pledge, payment or new donation to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign. Your contribution supports Jewish needs in Miami, Israel and worldwide. What’s more, a generous donor will match all new or increased gifts made before the end of the year. Click here to make a donation and here to pay a pledge, or call 305.576.4000 for personal assistance.

Join hundreds of your friends and neighbors to celebrate a night for community and a night for Israel at The Main Event, Wednesday, February 15 at the Hilton Miami Downtown. Colleen and Richard Fain chair The Main Event. Respected journalist, political analyst and former moderator of Meet the Press David Gregory will give the evening’s keynote address. There will also be a special performance by Grammy Award-winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari. Click here for details and to RSVP.

The Miami Jewish Film Festival (MJFF) returns to celebrate its milestone 20th anniversary from January 12 through 26, 2017. For 13 days each year, one of the world’s largest and most respected film festivals presents more than 60 films from 20 countries, representing the very best in Jewish cinema from across the globe. The Festival focuses on engaging the Miami community and its visitors with diverse films that are both thought-provoking and educationally valuable. MJFF is a program of Federation subsidiary agency, the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE). For more information, click here.

In addition to collaborating on a thriving robotics exchange program in our partnership city of Yerucham, Israel, Federation recently supported another tech initiative in the Negev region: a 36-hour Hackathon, sponsored in part by the Negev Funding Coalition (NFC). More than 80 programmers, designers and educators worked nonstop to create prototype applications of technological game-based solutions to real-life problems in the public education sphere. A panel of judges chose three winning designs. Building on the success of the Miami-Yerucham Partnership, Federation is also a member of the NFC and plays an active role in regional development that aims to increase the vitality and attractiveness of the Negev for its current and potential future residents.

If you’re looking for a great way to promote your business and support Miami’s Jewish community, being one of Federation’s Proud Business Partners makes it easy to do both. Our valuable corporate sponsors are recognized in a variety of ways and at local Federation events. Most importantly, their generosity helps underwrite event costs, allowing our Annual Federation/UJA Campaign dollars to support critical needs in the Jewish community.
