Federation’s new Women’s Impact Initiative announces $50,000 in inaugural grants, to be distributed to 10 local agencies to fund new or expanded social service, health and education programs that directly serve the unique needs of Jewish women and girls in Miami-Dade County. Our Federation is the first in North America to allocate funds from the Annual Campaign to support programmatic solutions for women’s issues on the local level. Federation is helping to keep alive the stories of Holocaust survivors through the Young Lions program presented by the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach and the Jewish Volunteer Center. This year, the special initiative is partnering 18 Bar and Bat Mitzvah students and their families with survivors for a meaningful generation-to-generation experience that teaches important lessons about intolerance and hatred.
