The Israeli Cabinet has approved a historic plan to create a permanent space for egalitarian prayer at the Kotel (Western Wall) in Jerusalem. The decision comes after decades of work by The Jewish Federations of North America; the Conservative and Reform movements; Women of the Wall; Natan Sharansky, Chairman of the Executive of The Jewish Agency for Israel, Federation’s long-time overseas partner; and Israeli Cabinet Secretary Avichai Mandelblit, among others. Holocaust Education Week, February 22-26, is a free, community-wide program organized by the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, a Committee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Through enlightening film presentations, lectures and discussions across Miami-Dade County — including a special exhibition developed by Yad Vashem — the legacy of the Holocaust will be considered from cultural, academic and personal perspectives.
