The Ministering to the Elderly Conference is a practical forum for caring professionals, community and spiritual leaders, and all those concerned with enriching the lives of seniors.

What is trauma? Is it environmental? Is it genetic? Or is it both? In recent decades, research has demonstrated that traumas and other dispositions can actually be transmitted from generation to generation, and are studied in a field known as epigenetics. Historic traumas lying dormant can be “triggered.” How can we, as family caregivers, therapists, rabbis, nurses and doctors, help seniors struggling with daily trauma and turn negatives into positives? What are some tools and resources we can share with older adults to help them navigate their everyday lives?
