Celebrating Tu B’Shvat in Ukraine

Jewish residents in Ukraine recently celebrated Tu B’Shvat with programs that foster connections and Jewish identity. Many members of the community, from local students to homebound elderly, enjoyed the holiday events organized by Federation’s overseas partner, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). Odessa’s Hesed welfare center and Jewish community centers (JCCs) offered lectures and trivia sessions, while volunteers in the city of Nikolaev visited lonely seniors to plant flowers together.
