Delivering Essential Food to Israelis at Passover — and Always

As the war with Iran continues to disrupt daily life across Israel, Federation and our longtime partner, Leket Israel, are working to ensure that no Israeli is left without food, especially at Passover. Rockets, missiles and acts of terror have destroyed farmers’ fields where Leket traditionally rescued food for distribution, making it increasingly difficult to meet demand with food rescue volumes dropping by roughly two thirds in recent weeks. And yet, helping Israelis who hope to celebrate the holiday with dignity continues to be a priority, which is why Leket is providing them with essential holiday staples, including matzah and charoset. This is in addition to the ongoing work of providing meals, supermarket vouchers, boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables and more to approximately 470,000 people every week — double the number supported before October 7.
