Serving Jews with Special Needs in Ukraine

In Kharkov, Ukraine, young adults with disabilities enjoy socialization and companionship thanks to a program of Federation overseas partner the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). At the city’s JDC-supported Hesed social welfare center, individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities and mental illness participate in activities, receive job training and practice independent living skills.
