How the Dollars Are Allocated

In ordinary times and extraordinary times, there are many different kinds of needs in our Jewish community.

In Miami, people turn to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and our local Partner Agencies for emergency assistance with food and housing; Day School, daycare and camp scholarships; employment assistance; emotional counseling and much more.

In Israel, new immigrants and vulnerable populations turn to Federation-funded agencies and programs for help with basic-living expenses, settlement and acculturation issues, educational and vocational training and economic development.

Around the world, Jewish people are dependent upon a lifeline of vital programs and services provided every day by Federation’s overseas partners – from hot kosher meals and warm winter clothes to the comforting support of a humanitarian-aid professional.

And as we address the most pressing needs, we cannot ignore the importance of building a strong Jewish future. We must help to support initiatives that help to build Jewish identity among people of all ages.

The truth is, our Jewish community is complex and ever-changing, and all urgent needs must be addressed. In Community Planning & Allocations, we take this sacred responsibility – and, of course, your generosity – very seriously. Following in-depth analysis, we allocate your dollars where they’re put to their most effective use, based on community priorities and pressing needs.
