Holocaust Impact Theater (HIT) is a unique high school student theater project developed by Ruth Gordon, a career educator. Students are taught the process of writing, producing, performing, and directing their own script, while learning theater and writing skills that will last a lifetime. Students use the atrocities of The Holocaust as a platform to better understand and teach their audiences what happens when hate infiltrates a society. The students bridge historical events from the past with current, social injustices. The goal of each production is to develop a clearer understanding of the need to obliterate these injustices while creating the sense of celebrating tolerance and diversity.
