Isaac Mizrahi is a pop culture icon unlike any fashion designer of recent memory, a cabaret singer and a talk show host on QVC. He offers a candid look back on his life so far – growing up gay in a sheltered Syrian Jewish Orthodox family. His memoir is filled with poignant stories from his teenage years at the famed LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts, to a budding fashion designer working with such luminaries as Perry Ellis and Calvin Klein, to branching out on his own and being anointed the wunderkind of the international fashion world. His talents drew him into the who’s who of celebrity circles with Richard Avedon, Audrey Hepburn, Anna Wintour, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, to name only a few.
