Join the Jewish Museum of Florida on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. for "The Holocaust: A Living Journey-Book Play" Directed by Phillip M. Church, FIU Professor of Theatre.
Under the direction of Phillip M. Church, Artistic Director of What if Works and Associate Professor of FIU Theatre, this play features a vibrant cast in search of the meaning of memory and memorial in today’s society. Creating a dramatic mosaic, the production employs the poetry of holocaust survivor and Nobel Prize for Literature winner Nelly Sachs together with originally written monologues, excerpts from Ann Frank’s original diary, several cello solos recorded by Amernet String Quartet member Jason Calloway and New World School of the Arts senior clarinetist Carla Cao, projected sidewalk video interviews and archival film.
Cost: Museum Members & FIU Faculty/Students free; Non-Members $6.
