Become acquainted with your local community professionals who are committed to educating, empowering and protecting the Miami-Dade Jewish community from antisemitic threats and actions.

From Federation’s Office of Community Security (OCS): James Somohano has served in the Miami-Dade law enforcement community for over 36 years, including command-level and policy-making level positions. James provides critical life-saving training to these entities and also serves as the principle liaison to both local and federal law enforcement.

From the JCRC: Joshua Sayles has served as a civil rights and advocacy professional on behalf of the Jewish community for more than 10 years. He is responsible for Federation’s legislative initiatives on the local, statewide and federal levels, and also works to build bridges of understanding between the Jewish community and diverse communities throughout the county.
