Manager, Direct Response and Digital Fundraising

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation seeks a dynamic and motivated professional to initiate and lead our donor acquisition and retention efforts through a community campaign.

This new role will focus on leveraging technology to educate, acquire, engage and retain donors at the community campaign level (donors of less than $1000 and prospects). The ideal candidate will be donor centric, taking contributors on a journey from education to acquisition to retention to loyalty. This position plays a vital role in the Federation’s goal of increasing the donor base.

This professional will serve as the leader for a cross-departmental team with Financial Resource Development, Data/Technology and Communications. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytic skills, be detail oriented, and work well both independently and in a collaborative environment. 

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Overseeing and enhancing direct marketing, telemarketing, and texting efforts with emphasis on deploying A/B tests to maximize results
  • Analyzing data and trends and using findings to inform strategies and decision-making
  • Serving as a collaborative partner to facilitate smooth fundraising and proper data management and information sharing between departments
  • Identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts from current and prospective donors, with a strong focus on retaining and upgrading existing donors and acquiring new donors
  • Collaborating with Federation divisional leadership to create and implement fundraising strategies for donors giving $18 - $999
  • Spearheading the development and execution of automated workflows triggered by donor behaviors with continuous assessment and management
  • Leveraging existing technology suite to identify cohorts of high-priority efforts and targeted groups
  • Creating and developing platform notifications to support campaign professionals in their day-to-day fundraising activities
  • Developing and executing strategies for donor lead generation and nurturing through digital channels
  • Serving as lead professional for annual Super Sunday phone-a-thon
  • Coordinating Federation professional engagement in Community Campaign, including monthly Staff Phone-a-thons, Summer Competition, and other targeted efforts that leverage existing Federation professional relationships and audiences
  • Actively recruiting volunteer solicitors, and motivating and monitoring their assignments
  • Supporting, coordinating and recruiting for Federation events and programs

Skills: 

  • Proficiency in database management/CRM systems such as Blackbaud and Salesforce
  • Knowledge or ability to learn queries, imports and exports and other super-user type functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Teams). Excellent Excel skills, including the ability to filter, sort, clean and extract data.
  • Understand best practices of non-profit fundraising with an emphasis on direct mail and digital fundraising strategies
  • Use of workflow automation tools, such as Zapier, a plus
  • Customer service and donor-relations skills: proven ability in creating strategies to cultivate prospects and channel donor engagement leading to greater charitable support
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks at any given time in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a leader and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with peers in the organization whose support is needed for success
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Capacity to manage and organize information confidentially
  • Seek efficiencies in existing processes and execute process improvement initiatives
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Three to five years of experience in community organizing and financial resource development
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Jewish history, tradition, culture and community is a plus

Salary is commensurate with experience.
