Deepening Family Connections During the COVID-19 Crisis

Family Conversations Around Your Jewish Values and Giving

The Foundation is pleased to provide you with some complimentary tools developed by 21/64 to engage you and your family in questions and conversation around your values and giving. Originally created by Andrea and Charles Bronfman, 21/64 is a nonprofit organization that specializes in next generation and multigenerational philanthropy.

  • How does your giving reflect the legacy you wish to create?
  • What are the values that inform your giving?
  • What issues are you passionate about?
  • What are the values you wish to pass along to your family, your friends, your community?

If you are interested in learning more and would like to receive your complimentary Motivational Values Cards or Exploring Giving Cards, please contact Scott Kaplan at [email protected] or Jill Hagler at [email protected]. We are happy to work with you and your family to help facilitate these important conversations.

Writing Your Jewish Story

Many donors have shared that one of the motivating factors to making a legacy commitment is to be a role model to their children. The Foundation can help you do that by capturing your Jewish story – why and how you got involved in the Jewish community and what motivated you to make this generous and enduring gift to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. You also have the opportunity to include your testimonial in Federation’s soon-to-be-launched digital Book of Life, an online album that will contain stories and photos of those donors who have generously included the Jewish community in their estate plan. Click here for more details with some questions to help you get started. If you would like assistance writing your entry for the Book of Life, please contact Jill Hagler at [email protected].

Tracing Your Family Journey

The Forever Lion committee, chaired by Shelly Brodie in partnership with Women’s Philanthropy and the Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot in Tel Aviv, is hosting “Tracing Your Family Journey,” a program on genealogy. Join us on Tuesday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. We will have the opportunity to hear from Haim Ghiuzeli, Director of the Database Department at the museum, who will teach us how we can begin or continue tracing our family trees using Beit Hatfutsot’s complimentary resources and expertise.
