Back to School, Israeli Style
As students around the world return to the classroom, Federation and our partners are helping the youngest olim (immigrants) get ready for school in Israel. One recent event took 100 children to an annual back-to-school celebration at the Ramat Gan Safari shortly before they started first grade. From seeing a variety of animals and sharing a festive dinner to watching performances and a circus show, the youngsters enjoyed a day full of fun and new memories. Federation’s partners work year-round to help new immigrants of all ages in absorption centers that teach Hebrew and provide the support they need to acclimate to Israeli society. With the dramatic rise in worldwide antisemitism, more and more Jewish people are making aliyah to Israel.
