Federation’s Ethiopian-Israeli Initiative Helps Olim Acclimate

Recognizing the unique challenges of Ethiopians olim (immigrants), one of Federation’s core areas of support is focused on programs that help this demographic acclimate to their new spiritual homeland in Israel. Federation’s Ethiopian-Israeli Initiative provides ongoing support to this community, funding holistic after-school scholastic, emotional, social and nutritional programs. It also facilitates youth empowerment programs in Pardes Channa-Karkur and Be’er Sheva and academic guidance and mentorship for students in Yemin Orde Youth Village. Digital literacy, cybersecurity training and employment courses are helping professionals and seniors boost their confidence and free legal assistance is available for those navigating the justice system. Since the early 1950s, our Federation has helped more than 95,000 Ethiopians settle in Israel.
