Students Bear Witness to Jewish History in the Young Lion of Judah Program
Apply now to become a Young Lion of Judah and bear witness to Jewish history by connecting with a local Holocaust survivor. A collaboration between Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center and the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, this unique project pairs B’nai Mitzvah students with survivors in Jewish Miami to build meaningful intergenerational friendships. Participants learn about their partner’s history and commit to honor it in their B’nai Mitzvah ceremony. They also meet with their peers for instruction about the Holocaust and can earn up to 15 hours of community service. The next session, for those celebrating their B'nai Mitzvah before August 2027, will be held one Sunday a month, October 18-February 21. Click here to learn more and to apply. All programming takes place at the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, a Committee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
