Therapeutic Art Programs in Israel’s War-Impacted North

Among the many Federation-funded therapeutic programs for Israel’s war-impacted north are art workshops for people of all ages. Through the Fund for the Victims of Terror, which provides emergency aid and long-term rehabilitation, our Annual Campaign is furthering dozens of group interventions including innovative art therapy workshops. In the Upper Galilee, an “open art studio” is helping students in grades 3-6 process emotions and alleviate stress through creative expression. In Kiryat Shmona, near the Lebanese border, the Drawing Resilience Project provides therapeutic art workshops for elderly evacuees dealing with loneliness and anxiety after prolonged displacement. Group facilitator Natalia relayed, “One participant said this space provides her with energy for the entire week.”
