Federation to Lead Advocacy Mission to Washington, D.C. in February
The Major Gifts Division and Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation will lead the Fourth Annual Advocacy Mission to the nation’s capital on Wednesday and Thursday, February 1 and 2, 2012.
Chaired this year by Isaac “Ike” Fisher, this exciting and informative trip will include meetings with key officials in the White House and Congress, face-to-face advocacy and networking with members of Florida’s Congressional delegation and high-level briefings by officials at The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
This trip will be the fourth advocacy mission to Washington, D.C., co-sponsored jointly by the JCRC and the Major Gifts Division of Federation. In previous trips, which included meetings with senior White House officials and multiple Congressional leaders, the participants successfully advocated for the placement of the Jewish Chaplain’s Memorial in the Arlington National Cemetery, support for charitable giving, funding on behalf of Israel and legislation to sanction Iran.
