Alper JCC Miami and BeWell Miami Team Up to Care for Campers

Alper JCC Miami is partnering with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation BeWell Miami initiative to bring mental health care to summer camp. BeWell Miami, which provides mental health support and resources for young people, has led counselor trainings at all three Federation-funded Miami-Dade JCCs over the past few years. So when Alper decided to address campers' mental health needs, they naturally turned to the Federation initiative to implement mental health and wellness into camp activities. This includes weekly meetings encouraging campers and CITs (counselors-in-training) to explore self-care and personal wellbeing. “BeWell is making a meaningful impact on our camp community,” said Amanda Golzbein, Alper JCC Miami Camp & Youth Director. “We’re seeing campers develop real tools to express themselves. It’s been powerful to witness their growth and we’re deeply grateful for this partnership.” Follow @bewellmiami on Instagram to learn more.
