Assisting the Hurricane-Ravaged Caribbean

Federation's partners, in the name of the Jewish people, are on the ground in Jamaica, providing vital assistance following the devastation of Hurricane Melissa. Our proven disaster-response model, which relies on longstanding relationships, enabled us to respond in the immediate aftermath of this historic hurricane and provide life-saving support. Numerous hospitals also sustained damage and many residents were left without routine medications or access to care. Federation’s critical aid included delivering food and hygiene kits, medical supplies and clean water, as well as shelter supplies. As the recovery process unfolds — revealing new needs and challenges — we will be there to help our Caribbean neighbors manage the situation and ultimately rebuild their lives and communities.
