Attorney’s Mission to Israel Raises Money for Annual Federation/UJA Campaign

Twenty-eight legal professionals from Miami’s Jewish community recently spent a week in Israel with the Attorneys’ Division of Federation.Highlights of the trip included meeting with former Supreme Court President Judge Asher Dan Grunis, a private tour of the Yitzhak Rabin Center, and a session with the award-winning Robotics Team, based in Federation’s partnership city of Yerucham. Alan Kluger chaired the Mission, which inspired participants to increase their commitment to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign. The delegation included Alan's wife, Amy N. Dean, Federation Board Chair.

The group saw firsthand the progress of the Miami-Yerucham partnership during a meeting with the city’s Mayor, Michael Bitton. Later in the trip, they met with the Yerucham Robotics Team in Tel Aviv and learned about their initiative to adapt Bimba cars for young children with disabilities. They were so inspired by their meeting that they purchased 10 Bimba cars, which will provide “freedom” for 10 disabled children in Israel by creating easier access to playgrounds and daily life.

The Mission encouraged attendees to become further involved in the Attorneys’ Division, strengthening their identification with Federation’s work in the community-at-large.
