Doing Good Deeds in Miami and Worldwide

Businesswoman and philanthropist Shari Arison, along with her extended family, joined 800 volunteers from across Miami for the US kickoff of Good Deeds Day this past Sunday. Created by Arison in Israel 20 years ago, Good Deeds Day has become a global movement, now involving 115 countries worldwide. Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center enabled volunteers of all ages to participate in 14 projects throughout the county. Activities included stocking shelves at the JCS Kosher Food Bank; assembling 200 kits of helpful devices for people with disabilities; preparing mental health wellness bags for 200 teens; serving 450 families from the migrant worker community in Homestead; packing more than 3,000 meals for those facing food insecurity and more. A big thank you to all who helped us do good on our largest day of service! Click here to watch a video of the activities.
