Advocacy Efforts Support the Iron Dome Missile Defense System

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation and its Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) commend the bipartisan Miami-Dade Congressional Delegation for unanimously supporting $1 billion to fund Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system in a vote in the US House of Representatives yesterday. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R), Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R), Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R), Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) and Rep. Frederica Wilson (D) all voted in favor of the legislation, which provided Israel with critical funds to protect its citizens from rocket fire and reiterated the right of the world’s only Jewish State to defend itself from terrorist attacks. This week, JCRC worked in partnership with several Jewish and pro-Israel organizations in South Florida to help ensure the support of our elected officials in Washington, DC.
