OLAM: Looking For Leaders Now!

Are you interested in being a leader in Miami’s Jewish community? OLAM, Federation’s Leadership Development Program, is now accepting applications. The six-session program provides an opportunity for emerging leaders to sharpen their skills, learn about Federation, and understand the challenges facing the Jewish community.

Program Chair Dr. Jaime Ghitelman knows firsthand the value of OLAM. He was part of the program’s 2016 cohort and found it a rewarding way to network, learn and contribute. “Fresh off the Mega Mission, I was starting to get to know Federation,” he said. “This was a great way to learn more. I heard from interesting speakers and enjoyed developing relationships with people in the program.” Participants also create new and meaningful relationships with others who care about the community.

Speakers include Izzy Ezagui, an author and decorated member of the Israel Defense Forces, who lost an arm in combat; television personality Rosh Lowe, who will discuss the importance of compelling storytelling; and Mark Young of the Jewish Theological Seminary, who will focus on anti-Semitism in America. Participants will learn about Federation and our community from longtime volunteer leaders and staff as well.

The group will also take part in a special program sponsored by Federation's Jewish Community Relations Council and the Anti-Defamation League focused on combatting the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions (BDS) movement to delegitimize Israel. Gidi Grinstein, President of Reut Institute, a non-partisan, non-profit Israeli strategy group that focuses on innovative solutions to Israel’s most challenging problems, will lead the session.

Applications are due by Wednesday, December 12. For more information, please click here.
