Greater Miami Jewish Federation Mourns the Victims of the Halle Synagogue Attack

attacks

Our entire community is filled with grief and outrage by the Yom Kippur attack on the synagogue in Halle, Germany — an all-too-familiar reminder of the rise in anti-Semitism and hate crimes across the globe. We send our prayers to the families of loved ones who died in the brutal attack and also wish all those who were injured a full and speedy recovery. As news emerged, we learned that security improvements supported by The Jewish Agency for Israel Security Assistance Fund made it difficult to penetrate the door to the synagogue, which helped prevent additional loss of life. We deeply regret the fact that issues of security for our synagogues and Jewish institutions has necessarily become a priority for communities around the world, including here in Miami. Just as our Federation's Office of Community Security works strategically to promote safety awareness and provide consultation and guidance to local agencies and institutions, Federation overseas partner, The Jewish Agency for Israel, is helping to safeguard our people around the world.
