36-Hour Hackathon Provides Creative Education Solutions

In addition to collaborating on a thriving robotics exchange program in our partnership city of Yerucham, Israel, Federation recently supported another tech initiative in the Negev region: a 36-hour Hackathon, sponsored in part by the Negev Funding Coalition (NFC). More than 80 programmers, designers and educators worked nonstop to create prototype applications of technological game-based solutions to real-life problems in the public education sphere. A panel of judges chose three winning designs. Building on the success of the Miami-Yerucham Partnership, Federation is also a member of the NFC and plays an active role in regional development that aims to increase the vitality and attractiveness of the Negev for its current and potential future residents.
