Learn to Help Others as a Spiritual Care Volunteer
If you’re a compassionate person who wants to help others while growing personally and Jewishly, the Refuat Ha-Nefesh Spiritual Care Program is for you! Presented by Federation’s Mishkan Miami: The Jewish Connection for Spiritual Support, Refuat Ha-Nefesh trains volunteers ages 21 and older in the mitzvah of bikur cholim (visiting the sick) and the art of spiritual care. From December to April, participants will receive professional instruction from rabbis, chaplains, doctors, bereavement specialists and social workers. Developing legacy, art, music and creative ritual projects, you’ll learn how to help older adults and others who are lonely, ill or in need of companionship. Classes are a mix of virtual/in-person Tuesday evening and in-person Sunday morning sessions. Click here to apply for this free program before the November 22 deadline.
