Help Honor an Outstanding Community Volunteer
Do you know someone in Miami’s Jewish community who makes a difference in the lives of others through volunteerism? The Jewish Volunteer Center (JVC) of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation wants your help in recognizing an exceptional adult or teen with its 2014 Outstanding Volunteer Award.
Nominations are now being accepted for this prestigious annual award, which enables our community to publicly thank those who have demonstrated a commitment to the highest ideals and practices of volunteer service.
“Our volunteers are a precious community resource, and often are our unsung heroes, working tirelessly behind the scenes to support our neighbors and community institutions. We owe a great deal of debt to them for dedicating their time and energy in such a meaningful way,” JVC Chair Shana Lewinger Russo said.
Nominations may be made for an outstanding adult or teen volunteer who:
- Is Jewish and volunteers in a Jewish organization
- Is Jewish and volunteers to promote the general well-being of the community or to share Jewish values in the general community
- Is not Jewish, but volunteers in a Jewish organization or in an organization that has a Jewish interest
Honorees will be selected by the Jewish Volunteer Center Committee, which will consider the following factors:
- Scope and depth of service (direct and hands-on)
- Impact on the lives of others and the community
- Extent of ingenuity and creativity in the volunteer’s efforts to solve community problems
- Depth of commitment
Self-nominations or nominations by family members will not be considered.
