Holocaust Education Week Begins November 4

Holocaust Education Week, presented by Federation’s Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, begins November 4, and culminates with a community commemoration of Kristallnacht on November 10. Comprising cinematic and literary presentations, along with lectures and discussions, this year’s programming uses the legacy of the Holocaust as a lens to view the current rise in antisemitism and the ongoing war in Israel. Sessions include the film June Zero, featuring director Jake Paltrow, in conjunction with the Miami Jewish Film Festival’s series Screening the Holocaust; the Spanish-language testimony of Survivor Judy Rodan; and a discussion of a book of young writers’ diaries from the Holocaust, Salvaged Pages, with author Alexandra Zapruder. The week concludes with the Kristallnacht remembrance next Sunday, November 10 at 6 p.m. in Temple Israel of Greater Miami, 137 NE 19th Street. All programming is free of charge and open to the public. Advance registration is required for all events, except for the Kristallnacht program. Click here for more information and to RSVP.
