Holocaust Memorial Seeking Holocaust Survivor Childhood Songs

The Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach (HMMB) is seeking audio and video recordings of Holocaust Survivors singing songs from their childhood. The Memorial’s Education Center, currently under construction, will incorporate these into an audioscape — a sound composition — that reflects the vibrant cultural and spiritual life of European Jewish communities before the Holocaust. Recordings from Survivor family members, including religious melodies, lullabies, folk tunes or other music from their youth, will be utilized to preserve this vital time period. If you or someone you know is willing to share recordings such as these, the Memorial will be honored to consider them for inclusion in its new state-of-the-art facility devoted to keeping memory of the Holocaust alive. Please submit files in MP3 or MP4 format (audio or video) with the subject line “HMMB Audioscape” to [email protected] by September 1. The Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach is a Committee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
