The Holy Closet: A Pride Screening that Celebrates Mental Health and Wellbeing

Come together with your community to celebrate Pride Month this June. In partnership with BeWell Miami, the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education, Keshet, Miami Jewish Film Festival, The Hub at Temple Beth Am and other local Jewish organizations, Federation is convening our community to bring attention to Jewish LGBTQ+ identity in conjunction with mental health awareness through a screening of The Holy Closet. The movie depicts seven stories centered around life cycle moments of LGBTQ+ Jews in Israel who chose to remain religious, and offers celebratory, heartfelt and often humorous explorations of the lives of queer Jews actively reshaping the landscape of Orthodoxy in Israel. Following the film, don’t miss a panel discussion and Q&A focused on LGBTQ+ youth mental health in the Jewish community. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for teens under 18. Advance registration is required. Click here to RSVP.
