Injured IDF Soldiers Use High Tech Solutions to Advance Rehabilitation

Longtime Federation partner Beit Issie Shapiro is addressing the rising needs of Israelis with disabilities through its new program Tech For Heroes. Using cutting-edge technology, the initiative is focused on the needs of IDF soldiers coping with physical or mental injuries sustained in the ongoing post-October 7 hostilities. Orit Grainstein, Tech For Heroes Program Manager, asks every individual: “How can we help promote independence and good quality of life?” For Timor, who lost his leg in a battle in Gaza, even simple chores can be difficult. But after receiving an ergonomically adapted chair from Tech For Heroes, he shared, “It felt like a different world. More importantly, Tech For Heroes helps us better understand how we want to live our life.” Beit Issie Shapiro is Israel’s pioneering leader and innovator in the field of disabilities.
