A restaurant waiter… a paralegal… a single mother… the coronavirus crisis does not discriminate and many in our community are facing food insecurity.

Yesterday the Greater Miami Jewish Federation hosted our 10th Kosher Food Distribution Drive-Thru, which helped more than 1,200 people fill their fridge.

A 2021 Federation Jewish Incubator Grants is helping preschoolers learn about prayer and Jewish text in an engaging and accessible way. Through Words From Our Hearts: A Prayer Exploration for Early Childhood, a collaboration between Federation subsidiary agency the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE) and Torahtron, a local Jewish educational theater, children, families and teachers will explore prayer concepts and develop their own avenues of spiritual expression.

Every month, nearly 20,000 children across Russia and Ukraine experience the joy and love of learning when a special envelope arrives in the mail just for them: their PJ Library book.

Taking a break from everyday stress is particularly challenging for parents and grandparents of children with disabilities. To help them decompress, the Miami Jewish Abilities Alliance, a Federation program, created Catching Your Breath.

What does it mean to make a difference in our community? For the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, it means helping fight food insecurity for those struggling during these challenging times.

“I lost my job in March and we are having trouble living on my husband's salary alone...I'm taking care of my elderly father-in-law who lives with us,” said the young mother.

If you are a Jew of Color who lives in the United States and are 18 years of age or older, be counted by participating in an anonymous, confidential and secure survey through the Jews of Color Initiative (JoCl).

Thanks to a partnership with Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Miami’s treasured Holocaust Survivors have begun to be vaccinated for COVID-19. The crisis has impacted everyone, but for aging Survivors, who began their lives amidst unimaginable horror, the pandemic poses special psychological, emotional and health concerns.

Are you a Lion of Judah donor or want to become one? While we can't gather in person this year, women from around the world who give a minimum of $5,000 annually to Federation will still come together virtually at the International Lion of Judah Conference January 24-25.

The moment to make a difference is now. With this in mind, Federation Women’s Impact Initiative awarded $70,000 grants to 14 organizations in Miami that help transform the lives of women and girls.

Federation believes Jewish overnight camp is a formative experience and one every child should have.
