In an historic act of Zionism, the first two flights of Operation Zur landed in Israel this week, reuniting approximately 500 Ethiopian children with their parents who made aliyah many years ago.

Over the past 10 years, thousands of Jewish job-seekers have received employment counseling and secured jobs thanks to JWorks Miami. The community employment program is provided through a partnership of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Services of South Florida and is offered at no cost to Miami's Jewish residents and local employers.

The 8th Cohort of the Miami Diller Teen Fellows kicked off its year virtually — without missing a beat. The prestigious program, operated by Federation subsidiary agency the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE), brings together 10th and 11th graders for a year of leadership development, camaraderie, Jewish identity building and social action.

The human toll of the pandemic reminds us of the power of philanthropy and helping those in need. With this in mind, year-end is the perfect time to review your charitable giving strategies to ensure the greatest impact.

Knowledge is power and for Ashkenazi Jews that knowledge can help save lives. Learn about the BRCA genetic mutation, carried by one in every 40 Ashkenazi Jews, and its role in increased cancer risks at a virtual program, Born in the USA and Jewish, on Tuesday, November 24 at 7 p.m.

Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, Federation topped the leaderboard and raised $1,026,577 on Give Miami Day!

If you or a loved one are suffering from the effects of the pandemic and need spiritual support, Federation is here for you. Mishkan Miami: The Jewish Connection for Spiritual Support is compiling a list of community members requesting recitations of tehillim (psalms) and circulating it to area synagogues.

Families are finding new ways to engage Jewishly during the pandemic through PJ Library, a Federation program that provides free monthly Jewish-themed children’s books to Jewish homes.

Tune into Channel 10, WPLG this Sunday, November 15 at 2:30 PM to watch Names Not Numbers, part of a groundbreaking initiative organized by the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach that brought together Holocaust Survivors and students to create a documentary film.
