Israeli Division Helps Locals Celebrate Shavuot

Ahead of Shavuot, Federation’s Israeli Division gathered at Jewish Community Services (JCS) Kosher Food Bank to prepare holiday food baskets for older adults. Working with Forum Nashim, the women’s division of the Israeli Parliament, this meaningful act of community and collective responsibility also allowed the group to learn more about the vital role of the Kosher Food Bank. Food insecurity can often reveal deeper challenges — financial hardship, unpaid bills and families struggling to stay afloat. Through JCS’ continuum of care, a case worker helps families and individuals access immediate support and guides them through a broad social service network that identifies needs, connects people to resources and helps restore dignity, stability and hope. Federation is a proud partner of JCS and supports the organization through donations to the Annual Federation Campaign.
