We Are #JewishMiamiStrong During Jewish American Heritage Month — and Always!

Your Miami Federation proudly celebrated Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) throughout May with several visible events across our community. Last week the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach hosted Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who spoke on a panel to an audience consisting primarily of high school students about the dangers of antisemitism and hate and the broad contributions that the Jewish community has made to South Florida. The Mayor was joined by the Memorial’s Danielle Parade, FIU Jewish Museum’s Susan Gladstone, and JCRC’s Josh Sayles, who moderated. The County also presented a proclamation to Federation honoring JAHM earlier in the month, as did the City of Miami and the City of Aventura. JAHM was spearheaded by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz in 2006 and signed into law by President George W. Bush.
